We do not possess memory,
Our entire body is memory
I am an actor with the earnestness of Sam from Game of Thrones, the tension of the bellhop from Bad Times at the El Royal, all that is wrapped up in the humor that comes from a life of improvising and watching Mel Brooks movies. As a graduate of CalArts’ BFA program I am a highly adaptable performer comfortable with styles ranging from gritty realism, to light hearted comedy, to the avant-garde and experimental. I bring my deep curiosity, open heart, and sense of play to every project I work on, which culminates in a rewarding experience for all.
Live theatre will always have my heart, especially physical and devised work. I have extensive training in Viewpoints, Lecoq mask, am self-taught in the devising methodology of Frantic Assembly, and have studied Grotowski under the master teacher Stephen Wangh. As a founding member of the movement ensemble Have Body; Will Travel I directed a physical adaptation of William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying. I’ve had the great fortune to work with Chicago’s Neo-Futurists, with the acclaimed Polish theatre director Natalia Korczakowska, and on the show Anatomy of a Struggle; which used an early Tennessee Williams play about a prison hunger strike as a lense through which to explore race in America.
